Rien and I are really enjoying our time in Europe and we were overwelmed with the hospitality of our friends in Germany, we visited Dusseldorf and the next day we went to Cologne, really beautiful city, very old , with the the buildings from the 11th century and the Catheradal DOM absolutely a once in a lifetime must visit not only the outside but the inside was breathtaking, the cobblestone streets going for as long as the eye can see , with
Boutiques ,food shops,and hundreds of restaurants,it was a beautiful sunny day we sat on the promenade and had a beautiful snitzel ,salad,and sausage,and Frites,yum yum yum We then walked along the Rhine along the most unique street of very old buildings ,with balcony's full with colourful flowers, really a sight to see.Anyone going to Germany must go to Cologne.Today we are in Rotterdam staying a few weeks with Hennie John,and we are looking forward to be visiting Family and friends,as we are here for 8 weeks so we have lots of time to visit everyone,We have attended a summer street party like a barbecue where all the street families brought food ,drinks,and deserts,it started at 3pm and went to well into the night,we were all very tired,but had a good time met a lady who's son lives in Perth,spoke English and my broken Dutch to her ,it was interesting.Went into Zuid Plein,did some shopping,and past Feyenoord Stadium.Rien and I are enjoying all the foods that we have missed over the years,Rookorst,from the Hema ,kroketten,and beautiful breads.krentebollen, and mouth watering tarts with plenty of cream.On come the Kilo's .Ha,ha, we are on holidays,!!!?Untill our next move you all stay healthy and well . Love to all xxx.
